Membership Eligibility

New members will become either a Full or Associate Member of intelliFLEX based on their geographical location and their type of organization. All members are eligible for the same benefits.

Full Member
According to the bylaws of intelliFLEX, the association will be governed by industry. All Canadian, U.S. and international industrial companies that have, in Canada, operations that pertain or relate to printable, flexible or hybrid electronics (FHE) are eligible for Full Membership. A Canadian operation that consists solely of an office for the purpose of sales activities in Canada does not meet the criteria for Full Membership.

Full Membership is therefore available only to Canadian, U.S. and international for-profit industrial companies with Canadian operations that currently conduct, apply, seek to undertake or lever research, technology development and commercialization in their business related to FHE.

This includes technology developers, integrators, manufacturers, printers and end-users that may be Canadian corporations, multinationals with a Canadian presence, Canadian SMEs or Canadian startups.

Full Members are eligible to vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on resolutions and serve on the intelliFLEX Board of Directors.

As a national association, intelliFLEX welcomes all international industrial firms to participate in Canada’s FHE ecosystem. Those companies that do not yet have such operations to meet eligibility for Full Membership in Canada will be Associate Members.

Associate Member
Associate Members are any other organizations that do not meet the criteria for Full Members.

This includes governmental agencies, R&D organizations, fellow international PE organizations, associations, partners, colleges, universities, international corporations that do not have substantial Canadian operations, and suppliers of professional services to the FHE industry, such as lawyers, accountants and patent agents.

Associate Members are not eligible to vote or hold office with intelliFLEX. They can, however, play an instrumental role in intelliFLEX’s policy, program and service development and otherwise benefit from the complete range of services available to Full Members. They can participate on intelliFLEX advisory boards and take senior roles through our Leadership Councils for specific industry verticals, such as intelliPACK for intelligent packaging. At all times, they are welcome to provide their input into the priorities and program direction of intelliFLEX, and raise any points of concern. This includes during intelliFLEX’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The key differences between a Full and an Associate Member is eligibility to serve on intelliFLEX’s Board of Directors and to vote at the AGM.
