Sept. 17, 3D Printing Industry: Simon Fried, CBO and co-founder of PCB 3D printing firm Nano Dimension, speaks with 3DPrintingIndustry.com about the role of 3D printing in the growing world of non-planar electronics. As opposed to traditional, two-dimensional circuit boards, non-planar designs allow electronics to be molded into unique shapes that push the boundaries of what’s possible in electronics manufacturing. “Electronics as they’re made today are very planar things,” says the CPES 2018 speaker in the interview, adding that 3D printing allows the deployment of more agile development workflows and new design options.
