It’s time for our annual membership drive.

A year ago, we set an ambitious target for our first six months in operation – hit 50 Members by the 2015 Canadian Printable Electronics Symposium last April. We did it, and we’ve continued to grow, to 65 Members.

But to ensure this non-profit association is on a sound financial footing, our target is a stable base of 120 Members. We want to reach this by the end of 2016.

The key to hitting that target is ensuring our existing Members feel well served and engaged. What you get out of your membership depends on what you put in, and our team is ready to help in any way it can.

Are we giving you a solid return on your membership?

Your association management team will be in touch through the fall to discuss our programs, ensure your are taking full advantage of our new programs and services, and to solicit your input on where our focus should be for 2016.

A year ago, we launched with a goal and a vision to build a strong Canadian supply chain in PE that’s tapped into global opportunities and partnerships.

We’ve made great strides to deliver on that promise. It’s evident in the programs we’ve launched in two key market verticals, intelligent buildings and intelligent packaging – IntelliPACK and IntelliBUILD.

And to help you build that world-class PE team, we’ve also launched the industry’s first dedicated careers portal at the request of many of our Members, OPE-Careers.com.

We continue to build the CPEIA Knowledge Base. In the past two months alone we’ve added 15 documents. Members can also access here the CPES2015 presentations.

As our membership grows, don’t forget to check out the profiles of new Members. Feel free to reach out directly to key contacts to uncover new business opportunities, or ask us to broker an introduction for you.

Please do give us a call or drop us an email to share your thoughts, feedback and ideas.

Attracting new blood

Why should we attract new members?

Our goal, as always, is a diverse crowd from around the globe that represents the full breadth of the ecosystem required to turn great ideas into successful products and applications.

That means we need researchers, innovators, developers, integrators, suppliers, manufacturers and end users – academic institutions, R&D organizations, SMEs, multinationals and other industry associations, along with the funding channels and professional services that help great technology get to market.

So if you’re already a Member, and you’re out there, like so many of us are through the fall, giving presentations and attending trade shows and conferences, please take a few minutes to spread the word. Our Board of Directors will be leading the charge and doing the same.

Refer to us for CPEIA membership your contacts at other organizations you know that have an interest in printable, organic or flexible electronics (PE). That includes any international organizations with an interest in what’s happening here in Canada.

If you have the opportunity, feel free to slip a few of these slides about the CPEIA and the work we do into your presentation deck. Or use this one pager to send to your contacts.  (Link the one page PDF we just developed).

Let’s work together

But all this is just the beginning. Tell us what matters to you. Get involved in our ongoing program development and delivery. Help us build our membership base and create a rising tide that will float all ships.

Only together can we build a Canadian industry capable of capitalizing on the vast opportunities that exist for PE in market verticals around the world.
