OTTAWA— Oct. 19, 2016—The Canadian Printable Electronics Industry Association (www.cpeia-acei.ca) continues to diversify its membership in the materials space and for end-use markets like smart packaging, with the addition of Brilliant Matters Organic Electronics and Information Mediary Corp.
Brilliant Matters Organic Electronics
Brilliant Matters (www.brilliantmatters.com), based in Quebec City, provides high-quality organic compounds for the field of organic electronics. The company synthesizes, purifies and characterizes π-conjugated small molecules and polymers and offers state-of-the-art advanced materials. Brilliant Matters has deep expertise in direct arylation reactions, to produce high-performance materials with fewer steps and less waste.
The result is high-quality semiconducting polymers, small molecules and building blocks for printed/organic electronics at competitive prices. Custom synthesis and research contract services are also available.
The Brilliant Matters team is looking for industrial partners that want to develop new products for the printable electronics market, as well as academics or industrial partners for research projects on new high-performance materials or new applications related to printable electronics.
Information Mediary Corp. (IMC)
Ottawa’s IMC (www.informationmediary.com) conducts research and development in the areas of pharmaceutical, logistics and supply chain compliance technologies. The company employs talented and creative people to integrate existing skills, expertise and technologies complemented by new inventions to meet user requirements.
Much of IMC’s work and expertise centres around smart packaging. It focuses on sensor (and printed sensor) design and production, electronic design and production, the interconnection between sensors and electronics, smart package design and integration, and smart package data handling and analytics.
The IMC team is eager to work with potential partners to identify use cases and build smart packaging solutions, particularly pharmacy/pharmaceutical-based smart packaging. The company is also looking to grow its network of supply chain partners for printed sensors.
“Canada is rich with well-established and growing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that are setting new benchmarks in all aspects of materials science, technology integration and end-user application development for our sector,” said Mark Majewski, President and CEO of the CPEIA. “But as an emerging sector, we must work together to connect great technology with opportunity. We look forward to working with Brilliant Matters and IMC and helping them connect with fellow CPEIA Members.”
