Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) has changed its funding model and application process, effective immediately.
SDTC is an arm’s-length foundation created by the Government of Canada to fund new clean technologies. CPEIA-member companies engaged in the development of products or services that deliver tangible environmental benefits can lever SDTC funding to bring products and services to market.
CPEIA member Cooledge Lighting qualified for significant SDTC funding with its flexible LED lighting technologies. OTI Lumionics also qualified and we know at least one more member that is in the process of qualification for STDC funding.
Effective immediately, SDTC is discontinuing its scheduled calls for applications in favour of a continuous intake model—applicants will now be able to submit their initial request for funding at any time via www.sdtc.ca.
Additionally, SDTC has revamped the funding application process, introducing a shorter, more interactive process for prospective fundees, which includes a presentation via video conference that provides entrepreneurs with the opportunity to pitch their innovative clean tech development and demonstration projects to SDTC’s team of experts.
CPEIA Members interested in pursuing SDTC funding can contact President and CEO Mark Majewski for counsel and assistance. Peter has over a decade of experience working with the SDTC program, on behalf of a number of early-stage technology companies.
