OTTAWA— Oct. 27, 2016—The Canadian Printable Electronics Industry Association (www.cpeia-acei.ca) has welcomed to its membership Henkel AG & Co., which is actively pursuing partnership opportunities in printable, flexible and wearable electronics.

Founded in 1876, Henkel (www.henkel.com) operates worldwide with leading brands and technologies in three business areas – laundry and home care, beauty care and adhesive technologies. The company employs almost 50,000 people and reported sales of US$20.1 billion and adjusted operating profits of $3.2 billion in fiscal 2015.

Henkel Electronic Materials

Of particular interest to the CPEIA membership is Henkel’s work in the adhesive materials space, which encompasses printable electronics.

For more than 30 years, Henkel Electronic Materials has been a key materials supplier in the printable electronics industry, where it offers many different materials like conductive inks, protective coatings and laminating adhesives.

Henkel intends to work with other CPEIA member organizations to support their ongoing programs with turnkey enabling materials for printed devices that can be easily accessed from the Henkel material portfolio. An additional advantage of Henkel is that it also offers design and prototype services for printed electronic devices through its print facility in the U.S. This allows for fast prototyping of devices.

“To support future demand and material needs in printable electronics, Henkel has committed to develop new state-of-the-art materials in cooperation with key players in the field through the CPEIA,” said Mark Majewski, President and CEO of the CPEIA. “This is the kind of multinational support we need to grow a strong and sustainable domestic supply chain for our industry.”
