Intelligent packaging workshop sees great turnout

Earlier this week, we hosted our first joint workshop on Intelligent Packaging with our IntelliPACK partner, PAC, Packaging Consortium, at the Mississauga headquarters of one of our founding Members, Xerox Research Centre of Canada.

The event drew over 60 key industry players, including major packaging companies such as NetPack, Jones Packaging and Atlantic Packaging, and global consumer brand-owners Molson Coors, Boehringer Ingelheim and Absolut Vodka.

Building Canada’s industry
A teams

By Peter Kallai

It’s time for our annual membership drive

A year ago, we set an ambitious target for our first six months in operation – hit 50 Members by the 2015 Canadian Printable Electronics Symposium last April. We did it, and we’ve continued to grow, to 65 Members.

But to ensure this non-profit association is on a sound financial footing, our target is a stable base of 120 Members. We want to reach this by the end of 2016.

The key to hitting that target is ensuring our existing Members feel well served and engaged. What you get out of your membership depends on what you put in, and our team is ready to help in any way it can.

Did you miss our intelligent packaging webinar with PAC?

This Sept. 24 webinar, part of our IntelliPACK program, featured some great insight from PAC’s Rachel Morier and Alan Blake. They discussed PAC’s food waste and packaging waste reduction objectives and programs, and how printable electronics can enable new intelligent packaging options that help reduce waste.

CPEIA Members can access the slide deck and the webinar recording in the CPEIA Knowledge Base.

Sponsor the 2016 Canadian Printable Electronics Symposium

CPES2016 will take place April 19-20 at Sheridan College's new conference centre in Oakville, just outside Toronto. We expect another year of big growth as we continue to build CPES into a major industry event that attracts participants from around the world wishing to network with Canadian industry players.

Last year’s sponsors are already renewing. Keystep Growth & Finance has taken Bronze. Xerox Research Centre of Canada (XRCC) is again a Gold Sponsor. NovaCentrix has become our first ever Diamond Sponsor.

Don’t wait, the opportunities are fading fast. Commit before Nov. 1 to receive CPES 2015 sponsorship rates. On Nov. 1, sponsorship rates will increase.

Upcoming Events

Nov. 18-19 – Printed Electronics USA 2015, Santa Clara, CA

The only global event focused on the commercialization of printable, organic and flexible electronics. Meet customers, do business. Over 200 exhibitors and 3,000 attendees are expected.

This is the signature industry event at which the CPEIA had its coming out last fall as part of the delegation that took part in the well-received Canadian Pavilion. We will be making the trip again this year.

Visit the Printed Electronics USA website to learn more.

Nov. 18-19 – AIPIA Congress 2015, Jaarbeurs, Utrecht, Holland

This year’s event will focus on practical solutions that have shown they work successfully in the marketplace, or that are close to commercial launch.
