OTTAWA— Nov. 10, 2016—The Canadian Printable Electronics Industry Association (www.cpeia-acei.ca) has welcomed multinational materials and device company Brewer Science Inc. and OLED pioneer OTI Lumionics Inc. to the fold.

Brewer Science Inc.

Brewer Science (www.brewerscience.com) is a global technology leader in developing and manufacturing innovative materials, processes, and equipment for the fabrication of semiconductors and microelectronic devices.

The company continues a strong tradition of technology leadership through its proprietary devices utilizing unique materials and novel designs which enable viable resource monitoring for enhanced quality of life. Brewer Science has an extensive program dedicated to exploring new realms of printed flexible electronics and sensor performance. Revolutionary carbon nanotechnology makes its sensors among some of the fastest in the industry, and its sensors can be easily integrated with various types of sensing technology. Headquartered in Rolla, MO, Brewer Science supports customers throughout the world with a technical, service, and distribution network in North America, Europe and Asia.

Brewer Science is prepared for the next generation of sensors. Are you?

OTI Lumionics Inc.

OTI Lumionics (www.otilumionics.com) is making organic LED technology accessible for innovative new product applications. The Toronto-based company has developed breakthrough proprietary technology to reduce the marginal cost of OLED production, the capital cost of production equipment, and increase the performance metrics of OLED devices. OTI’s HaloTorr and ElektroTorr technologies dramatically drive down the cost of OLED production.

OLEDs are an ideal and efficient diffuse light source. These thin and flexible sheets are the only high-efficiency light source that doesn’t use heavy metals. In the intelligent building or connected home setting, OLEDs offer a new level of occupant comfort thanks to their ability to be tuned for warmth and colour spectrum.

In February 2015, OTI received $5.7 million in funding from Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), to implement a pilot production line capable of producing OLED panels in high volume.

OTI is eager to explore new applications and opportunities for flexible OLEDs. The company is looking for partners that are equally excited about applying the thin, lightweight and flexible aspects of OLEDs.

“We continue to grow our membership with fantastic industrial companies that demonstrate both technical and industry leadership, here in Canada and abroad,” said Mark Majewski, President and CEO of the CPEIA. “From innovative sensors to advanced lighting, both Brewer Science and OTI Lumionics continue to push the boundaries of what we can accomplish with printable and flexible electronics.”
