Conference offers deep insights to power your innovation

OTTAWA— Feb. 22, 2017—The Canadian Printable Electronics Industry Association (www.cpeia-acei.ca) has released the speaker lineup for CPES2017, Canada’s premier conference and trade show exhibition for printable, flexible and wearable electronics (PE).

With 30+ speakers and over 200 participants from 120 organizations in attendance, CPES2017 is Canada’s premier meeting ground for technology developers, industrial companies and end-users to discuss how they can work together to manufacture and commercialize new products and applications. Academic researchers can showcase their research and discover how they can link it to market needs and opportunities. Day 1 of the program features Key Applications, while Day 2 is dedicated to Manufacturing. The optional Day 3 offers master classes, a financing session and mentoring.

Christine Di Fabio, Global Research & Development, Print & Connectivity / Intelligent Packaging, Unilever

Unilever is one of the world’s leading suppliers of fast-moving consumer goods. Its products are sold in over 190 countries and used by two billion consumers every day. Unilever works to create a better future with brands and services that help people feel good, look good and get more out of life. This includes adding intelligence to everyday objects, such as the packaging for consumer goods.

She will discuss how Unilever is looking to build partnerships across the PE community to boost consumer engagement and enable the circular economy.

Ron Zimmer, President & CEO, Continental Automated Buildings Association

CABA is an international not-for-profit industry association dedicated to the advancement of intelligent home and intelligent building technologies. The organization is supported by an international membership of nearly 400 companies involved in the design, manufacture, installation and retailing of products relating to home automation and building automation. Public organizations, including utilities and government are also members.

He will discuss printable, flexible and wearable electronics’ role to drive many of the applications that allow intelligent homes and connected buildings to achieve new levels of energy efficiency, automation and occupant comfort.

Michel Popovic, President, AFELIM

AFELIM is France’s printed and organic electronics industry association. Its mission is to Create a network of members of different trades in the market for PE, exchange on the issues of the profession, enhance the value chain, create a strong link between R&D and production, disseminate market information, open access to major research programs, and represent the profession and its members at industry events and to European and global bodies.

He will discuss the strengths and opportunities for France’s PE sector.

Russell J. Schwartz, Chief Technology Officer, Sun Chemical Corporation

Sun Chemical, the world’s largest ink company, is a renowned manufacturer of nanosilver inks designed for use with inkjet and aerosol jet systems in the development of printed antenna and sensors. As the only provider of functional and graphic inks for in-mold electronics (IME), Sun Chemical also delivers the IME Full Stack: From Conductors to Colors.

He will address some of the main trends in printed electronics and provide insight into the electronic materials that will drive future advances in electronics manufacturing.

Stan Farnsworth, Chief Marketing Officer, NovaCentrix

NovaCentrix is leading product innovator in printable electronics (PE) manufacturing. It develops, patents, and commercializes new technologies in PE, nanoparticle manufacturing, pulsed power equipment and related fields. NovaCentrix is known for its PulseForge line of tools (used to dry, sinter or anneal thin-film materials on substrates) and its Metalon conductive inks.

He will discuss state-of-the-art conductive inks along with the use of photonic curing to create high-performance electronics on flexible and low-cost substrates for emerging applications in IoT, wearables and automotive.
